Chanteuse Chamber Choir
About Chanteuse

Chanteuse Chamber Choir is an award-winning female choir based in Stafford, Staffordshire in the West Midlands. Our Musical Director is Sue Brereton-Banks.

The choir started in 2008 with a few of Sue's pupils and friends meeting in her living room singing for fun. But we are now an award-wining choir of around 25 ladies from the West Midlands who share a passion for singing at the highest possible level. We love having fun and sharing a cake or two at rehearsals!

Our musical repertoire is very varied including classical, contemporary, folk songs and hits from the musicals. We love a challenge and sing in multiple languages and complex harmonies in up to eight parts, all from memory.

We hold regular concerts in Staffordshire, often raising money for charity. We also sing at events and weddings most recently at Sandon Hall, MOD Stafford and the Staffordshire County Showground. And we compete in one or two UK or international choral competitions every year.
Chanteuse Chamber Choir also have a smaller award-winning ensemble called Chanteuse Enchantée.

Fancy joining us?

If you’re a keen and capable singer, who loves singing and wants to sing to the best of your ability, do get in touch. New members are always welcome. Come and join us for a couple of rehearsals first and then take a short audition with Sue, our Musical Director. The ability to read music is helpful but not essential as we sing from memory. We meet weekly in Stafford.
